A great collection of seven very well written unique and intriguing short stories that convey aspects of life and human nature The characters in all the stories are depicted very well and come across as very believable I felt drawn into and involved in each story and each one has a satisfying end Apart from being enjoyable stories for short story fans, I thought each one also contained perceptive observations of people and life Overall I think my favourite is Stale Cakes and Car Keys I loved the ending where Ted and his elderly mother both come to a new understanding of each other and their own quiet conclusions about what matters most.
