I really love the Jesper Jinx series, each new book brings adventures and disasters for Jesper, and I look forward to seeing what happens next for him.although he does seem to bring a lot of it on himself When I received Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper for review I knew it would be a quick read, and I read it between review books Like the previous books, Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper is split into small stories with hilarious images to go along with the story being told MY review will be short but will hopefully give you an idea of what is within the pages of this latest installment by Marko Kitti.Intro Sequence These are super quick short chapters, and in this we see Jesper declaring his independence from cleaning day, this gets him out of cleaning his room as its his own style but ends up getting pranked by his sister, and leaving him plotting revenge The whole declaring his independence was an ingenious idea and I wish I had thought of this myself when I was younger.Turkish Pepper This is salty liqourice salmiakki that the author smuggled in from Finland and is unwilling to part with any when Jesper asks It isn t until Jesper threatens to tell his parents that the author is stealing his stories, that the author relents and let s Jesper take his precious last bag of this Turkish Pepper.Jesper Jinx Goes Camping Jesper and Oliver are camping in Jesper s back garden, and what is meant to be a night of junk food and sleep, quickly ends with police helicopters and burglars.Mystery of the Chocolate Chip Cookies The mystery as to what happened to the Chocolate Chip Cookies left behind in the tent is revealed in this short chapter, and it definitely made me laugh.Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper This story tells us what the Turkish Pepper can really do Melinda and Jesper compete to win VIP tickets to a concert They have to learn the lyrics of a song and perform them for their parents who decide on the winner To gain the advantage Jesper ends up eating some Turkish Pepper and has some disastrous results Final Verdict Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper was another great installment to this series While the books are short and quick for myself they are ideal for reluctant readers, or children with short attention spans.

Jesper is back again, and boredom still is a word he s never going to understand Like the other two books in this series, Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper is packed full of humor Especially boys ages 8 and up will love following Jesper as he again gets himself into quite the pickleor, in this case, pepper I really enjoy the lighter side of life these books take, while still presenting a fairly normal boy and how he faces fairly normal, everyday problems in his own, original ways Kids will have no trouble relating to Jesper and sympathizing with him as he tries to work his way through the craziest situationsalthough I doubt they ll try his techniques themselves I can only recommend this series and believe that especially reluctant readers will enjoy accompanying Jesper on his hilarious adventures.

Full review at chapter5My Thoughts This is the 3rd installment in the Jesper Jinx Series, once again we have to promise no to divulge anything about this book By now you must now that this will be a quick read with adventures and disasters from our dear boy And like the rest of the series you will love the hilarious images that go along with every short story Getting pranked by his sister when he is trying to have independece is not something he liked at all so here comes revenge and ways going wrong as always Oh and when they compete to win concert tickects, the results of Jesper actions are hilarious.

After being tricked into allowing his almost teenage sister, Melinda, full access to his room and diary, Jesper and his best friend, Oliver, camp out in Jesper s back yard Surrounded by darkness, all sorts of imagined horrific scenarios dance around the boys heads, resulting in a failed attempt to break in through Melinda s bedroom window Frank Fox provides some insight into the boys misfortune that night, after which full focus turns to a family singing competition, to see who is worthy of the only ticket to the upcoming Horrid Porridge concert. The deceptive, yet highly imaginative beginning to Marko Kitti s tale kicks off a whirlwind of adventure and insanely humorous antics of Jesper s family, their neighbor and the Silly Old Scribbler himself I surprised myself when I hooted and squealed in delight, finally seeing the word SALMIAKKI in the text a Finnish delicacy which I am sure they use to torture all foreigners in extreme situations The introduction of Snowy s boyfriend, Frank, was a real palette cleanser, which left me laughing until I choked on my food Note to reader put food down before reading Marko Kitti s books the difference being intermittent and constant shock and laughter Smiling all the way through, while shaking my head in shock and disbelief at the outcome of the camping debacle, I simply could not put Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper down The illustrations were as clever and entertaining as the text, and I am once again left with a craving for , which I will be seeking out today I fully recommend Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper to readers aged 7 200, who love a well written tale which carries an interesting family dynamic and an insight into the Finnish culture.

I am loving the Jesper Jinx series of children s books Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper is the third book in the series written by Finnish author Marko Kitti Jesper loves playing pranks but never has much luck with them In case you are new to the series and haven t read Book 1 Jesper Jinx or Book 2 Jesper Jinx and the Sneezing Season, Jesper is 11 years old and lives with his Mum, Dad, 12 year old sister Melinda and Snowy the cat in Puffington Hill on the South Coast of England His best friend is Oliver He loves pranks, especially at his sister s expense. Our author, Marko aka Silly Old Scribbler still doesn t have permission to publish Jesper s stories So as in the previous two books, before you start reading you still need to sign the Secrecy Agreement and agree to the Terms But most importantly of all, DON T TELL JESPER He cannot know of existence of these books, otherwise we, as readers, will be deprived of stories. So now the legalities are out of the way, let s get back to the book In Book 3 Jesper Jinx and the Turkish Pepper, Jesper acquires the last bag of the Silly Old Scribbler s Jesper s name for the author extra hot Turkish Pepper which lead to some extraordinary events. We also see Jesper creating his own Declaration of Independence so that he doesn t have to clean his room, but for every action is a consequence as Jesper is about to find out He and Oliver decide to camp for the night in the garden with disastrous results including them both getting stuck in a window and a large police presence Frank Fox lets us know how Jesper s bag of chocolate chip cookies went missing He is tricked, along with Melinda, into a singing contest which ends up with Jesper becoming locally famous. And to end the book of Jesper s wonderful stories, there is a bonus exclusive rare interview with Snowy the cat Overall, Jesper and the Turkish Pepper us quirky and fun that the young and old will enjoy It s not just for 7 year olds I love Jesper s antics and especially love the way the author involves readers by writing the book as if he were telling a secret to the reader and how he involves the reader with the signing of the Secrecy Agreement before continuing to read the book.

Book 3 Once , a feast of fun and entertainment from Jesper Co.I found the banter between Jesper and his sister, Melinda, very funny Sadly for Jesper, his sudden brilliant ideas often end in disappointment or embarrassment Jesper s neighbour, 99 year old, Mrs Peacock is a welcome addition to the fun and antics Her character is absolutely unique, eccentric, and highly amusing.Jesper goes camping in his back garden with his best friend Oliver What could possibly go wrong Unfortunately for Jesper lots But for the reader, it brings a sequence of hilarious and incredible situations almost like watching a scene from a James Bond movie You really need to read this So, what s all this about Turkish Pepper Well, Jesper Jinx bribes the scribbler Author, Marko Kitti into giving away his last bag of these salty liquorish sweets but with a last minute warning to Jesper about the Turkish Pepper being NOT AN ORDINARY SWEET Jesper and some unsuspecting victims soon find out the hard way just what this stuff can do Look out for Snowy the Cat and her boyfriend, Mr Frank Fox They are mixed up in these wicked adventures.Oh boy What fun and mischief this third book in this delightful series, really is I recommend this book for boys and girls of all ages, and surely amusing for fun loving adults too

Marko Kitti, a.k.a the Scribbler as he calls himself in the stories, is back with yet another installment in the Jesper Jinx Series Once again the story begins with the usual request to swear an oath of silence After all Jesper is not aware that we are reading his stories. We have had some interesting adventures with Jesper previously and this new installment doesn t fail to delight It has all the elements typical of a classic Jesper story The stories are amusing and will have the reader in splits Though this is termed as middle grade fiction, I am sure that the stories will appeal to readers of all ages.Right from fighting with his sister and plotting revenge against her, to making up fun things to do, Jesper is as mysterious a kid as ever and perhaps one of the most entertaining ones I know His adventures though sometimes unbelievable at first end up being so outrageous that ultimately even the reader is convinced that such things can happen Frank the fox s version of events and the way he plays a prank on Jesper and his friend is a wonderful addition to the story I particularly enjoyed Jesper s foray into the music world and his experience with the Turkish Pepper He cannot say that the scribbler did not warn him This book is a must read for all Jesper fans out there and a book that everyone will enjoy.

Synopsis Jesper Jinx is eleven, and probably the unluckiest person in all of Puffington Hill Everything he touches seems to end up in sweet disaster Hence his nickname Jinx.In the third book of his wickedly funny adventures, Jesper goes camping and develops a taste for Turkish Pepper WARNING Turkish Pepper might not be what you think it is You ll also get to know Jesper s 99 year old neighbour Oh, and a fox called Frank Finally, there s a huge concert coming to town starring local rapper Horrid Porridge. Can Jesper rise to the occasion with another Boredom Breaker or will the Turkish Peppers get to him Some truly splendid antics are in store for you, lucky reader My Review This book was sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review I have really enjoyed the Jesper Jinx series so far and am happy that it is continuing with new comedic happenings in each one I found it interesting that in this one it seemed that the boredom breakers and pranks were pulled on Jesper than he did to everyone else and it wasn t even due to them backfiring , this added a new element of fun I particularly enjoyed Mr Frank Fox and Snowy the Cat, they made me really giggle This is a great series and book for both boys and girls of all ages.

Review is for this book Jesper Jinx Goes Fishing Ah, Jesper How you make me laugh Jesper is forever getting into a pickle or should that be a pepper Misunderstandings and mishaps are normal for him, and make an entertaining read I loved learning what a Turkish pepper is, as well as the double meaning for fishing Jesper s scrapes are made that bit entertaining by the other stories in the book, which are from the view of one of the animals Jesper gets involved with Their take on the situation has me giggling away, and upset when I finish as I want to keep learning about their lives Jesper s family are at the heart of the tales, since they are the ones disasters happen to His sister is an interesting specimen she is mental, rarely supportive, and very much a drama queen One day Jesper might get along with her Probably the same day that he doesn t get in trouble which is never Jesper s tale is slowly conquering the world, being translated into different languages 5 so far.Yay I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review on my blog Nayu s Reading Corner
