This book presents the art of Jose Gonzalez, who is best known for his work on Vampirella Of course, Vampirella pieces are included in this collection Also, his work on British romance comics of the 60s, romance novel covers of the 80s, and his commission work of the 2000s is presented here I really enjoyed the British romance comic work since it had a strong pop vibe The Vampirella work from the 70s is good as well The art from the 80s and later is much weaker One thing that irritated me about this book is that some of the photos have captions and others didn t I would have liked captions for all of the photos.

I enjoyed the book I didn t know anything about Gonzalez, other than I liked his work that appeared in Warren magazines I like the extra large pages, which allow for the original pencils to be reprinted at or near full size Gonzalez did terrific drawings of real people, super accurate Many movie stars drawings are included in the book. The art is great It s too bad there wasn t about the man There was a 5 volume graphic novel about his live published in Spain, but none of the stories or anecdotes from those books are included here.
