When I first started the book I had to give up Terry s wonderful way of speaking was coming right out from the pages and I missed him so much that I found it upsetting When I ve taken the book back up 2 years later I found this comforting and enjoyed the ramblings and anecdotes immensely He gave so much and enjoyed his life while doing so Recommend to all TOGs and TYGs and you ll surely enjoy it even if you don t know what those are

Picked up ages ago second hand as I was a big fan of TW s breakfast show on BBC Radio 2.Sadly, he passed away coming up for 3 years ago now, and we shall not hear his like again on the broadcasting end of a mike.Anyway, I think, interesting though this first part of his memoirs are, his parents, family history and early life, I am not tempted to read further parts.Fond memories of watching Blankety Blank with my grandparents and listening my Dad getting up for work and switching on Radio 2 which meant I did too as my bedroom was directly above the radio I will donate this to our church bazaar book stall.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I was fully aware of Terry Wogan though, as my Dad liked him, he didn t become an immediate favourite of mine plus I listened to Radio 1 But I listen to Radio 2 now and like Wogan a lot and kind of wish I d paid attention before but there you go This tells his story, from birth to 1985, in his quirky voice that had me smiling and laughing and, occasionally, wiping a tear away I d have preferred of his time after he met his wife and a little less of the earlier stuff, but that s a minor quibble This is a chummy read, honest but decent and highly recommended.

Terry Wogan was a British Irish institution, I ve never heard a bad word about him. This book however was far too short for a man that achieved so much and met so many stars Almost no mention of his chat show stories, was Terry just trying to be too nice Wogan is sadly missed, it was good to hear him read the audiobook, I just wish it was fuller and longer.

I really like Terry Wogan on the radio and TV, but I found this book rather boring I think it was the style really than the contents Maybe I should have listened to it as audio book whilst potting around the house, as it didn t keep my attention sadly.
