I m not going to even rate this, but a billion negative stars for the fucking fathead of an idiot otherwise known as the hero What An Idiot He may be the worst DP hero ever Hmm, that phrase seems disturbingly familiar.Anyhow, the heroine is not as stupid or as doormatty as some, but obviously she can t help loving Fucking Fathead FF The h s father has died and may have been killed by evil OW 1 aka the stepmother The h and her brother are on the verge of losing the ranch FF is the next door neighbor and has the hots for the h Unlike other honorable but equally awful DP heroes he doesn t stay away because he s too old for her Nope, he stays away from her because evil OW 2 has social clout He was poor as a boy, and his mother was shunned by her society friends when she married a poor rancher, and blah, blah, blahoh cry me a a Red River Not very believable as pretty much all regular ranchers are poor, and.I m letting reality interfere which is a dangerous thing to do Oh yeah, he does mention he thinks the h may want a career so wouldn t be good ranch wife material Yeah, and stupid me continued to read.Evil OW 2 is a bitch on wheels to the h, and, okay, it was pretty entertaining as she is so awful plus everyone stands up for the h, even the h on occasion Everyone except for FF, of course At one point, the h snarks at evil OW 2 and gets slapped Yes Yes, the evil OW slaps the heroine The hero does nothing except to tell the officer who wants to arrest the evil OW for battery that of course the heroine won t press charges Be still my heart, FF No literally It s pounding in rage I think it was at that point I wandered over to my Goodreads friends reviews and posted mean thoughts. The only good thing is that both evil OW get their comeuppances and are hunted down like the dogs they are Evil OW 2 escapes, but I am going to put my money on all the DP lawmen and Special Ops guys that hate her guts that she will be brought to justice Surely they can use their assholeness for good and not evil. The h marries the ever present hair chested DP FF and HEA I am sure he will have either a brain or personality transplant by the next book and be a doting husband and all around nice guy.

This has the typical DP asshat H who doesn t know when to quit and his tstl quotient is so high that it s a wonder he runs a successful business as he does He does a complete 180 from an aww so sweet and obvious smittenness to shifting his allegiance totally to the crazed ow DP explains all in her usual way how he believed her too young to settle down and maybe she would want a career over marriage etc but that does not explain how his feelings changed so dramatically. What I find completely unforgivable is how he stood and just watched the nasty ow verbally and then physically assault the poor h and does nothing Most DP Hs treat the h badly but they are always protective of her in some way, especially if a third person mistreats them Of course an ow can change that perspective and its good for the angst too but it happened once too often and even physical assault didn t open his much blinded eyes.Apart from that, it s a very average DP and the H is mostly absent in the 2nd half, coming back for a periodic grope grimace and that too didn t thrill me as much as DP s making out sessions usually do The h and her brother, Curt the H s poor neighbors go through so much but the d b is disinclined or not interested enough to help them in any way Not that they ask for it but it s expected of a H to at least offer Curt comes across as an affable, hardworking guy and a loving caring brother I somehow hated the H s alluded snubbing of Curt and treatment as a menial employee even than I disliked his treatment of the h And this is another DP with hordes of characters from other books romping about doing their stuff but for once I enjoyed reading about them thoroughly maybe as this h H did not have much going for them.

Wow This is the dumbest hero I ve come across in a long time I mean the entire town knew he was being played for his money by the Senator s daughter and everyone lost respect for him.Sorry that s not how alpha heroes are supposed to roll Heroine was equally tsl, but that s to be expected She forgave the hero after he sided with his girl friend for Insulting her in front of the entire caf.Slapping herMaking sure her house was foreclosed on He did come to his senses before the gf hired an arsonist to burn the heroine s house down so true love His excuse Some other guy s wife married young and decided a career was important than staying home Hero thought the heroine was too young for him and thought he d get a placeholder girlfriend while she pursued her career as a paralegal.Since the H h were so boring and ridiculous, DP spiced up the narrative with the hunt for the heroine s black widow stepmother who left a string of wealthy dead husbands in her wake She was caught by the crack Jacobsville police force There was also a budding romance between the heroine s boss and his overweight secretary who started going to the Jacobsville version of Curves and got her hair frosted Diana Palmer checklist Hairy chest check furry Breast Description no nipple color to reportCigarettes noAlcohol she s drinking iced tea at the local barTown Descriptions Woman s only gym Boarding house where heroine moves after being foreclosed There are two competing banks Gardenia Scent Heroine smells like rosesLOL detail Hero teaches heroine how to make bacon in the microwave, carefully explaining about paper towels.Cutesy detail The biscuit brothers were mentioned yet again DP hobbyhorse All organic all the time

UPDATE Relido em 23 de junho de 2016.The author s heroes are easily fooled by OW They are gullible and adore a blonde socialite Just OW show interest and the hero goes blind and his brain stops working. They become toys in their hands And if OW comes from a wealthy family then, they re even dumber For this hero a social position is important than a good character.Harley Fowler and Blake Kemp are wonderful The 4 stars are for our heroine and the townsfolk who supported her and her brother The hero has gained zero star and a kick in the ass to learn to stop being dumb and shithead My Highligts I don t know that he s got marriage on his mind, Curt replied slowly But he s spent a good deal of time with Julie and the senator just lately He s got a big, fancy house and he likes to keep company with high society Maybe that s why he s been taking Senator Merrill s daughter around It gets him into places he was never invited to before We d never fit Especially me, She told me that you treated her so rudely that Kemp made her leave the office Oh, look, it s the little secretary, Julie drawled when she saw Libby in line behind them Still telling lies about me, Miss Collins she asked with a laugh Harley Fowler defended me, Libby said with a quiet smile Harley s sweet He defended me when Julie was insulting me When Julie kissed him, it was with her whole body She was than willing to do anything he liked Kemp cursed I don t understand how a man who was so concerned for both of you has suddenly become an enemy However, he added, I imagine Julie Merrill has something to do with his change of heart He s crazy about her, from what we hear You keep your sticky hands to yourself, you little liar, Julie told her as she passed on the steps Jordan is mine No doubt you mean his money is yours, right Libby ventured Julie drew back her hand and slapped Libby across the cheek as hard as she could Damn you she raged I am nobody s one night stand, she flashed at him Not even yours Don t make stupid jokes, he said icily You re no innocent Libby and Curt had been forced to move out of the farmhouse where they d grown up, because the bank had foreclosed He d liked being Julie s escort, being accepted by the social crowd she ran around with Rumor is that Julie Merrill s courting Duke Wright now Good luck to her He s still in love with his wife And he s not quite as gullible as Jordan Jordan wasn t so gullible, he defended his former boss When a woman that pretty turns up the heat, most normal men will follow her anywhere Relido em 06 de outubro de 2015.Gostei muito da Libby, ela uma hero na de personalidade que n o se deixa humilhar pelo ogro do Jordan nem pela vadia da Julie Ela tem os princ pios dela e os segue independente das press es e dos acontecimentos Ela ganhou meu respeito e simpatia.O Jordan n o muito inteligente n o, se deixa seduzir pela aceita o na alta sociedade e tem um comportamento lament vel um t pico ogro da autora.

OMG.i had totally forgotten i even had this book on is exactly like all of her other stories..just change the names and hair color..I really like the idea of a nice little town where most people know and take care of eachother.but really older guy, inexperienced girl.he is rich, she is poor.then throw in people from other stories that i have read and it is an even bigger reminder that all the stories are the SAME yeah, i know, then why do i even i said, it is something about the town

The local politics, the scheming deceitful OW, and the ensuing drama makes for an entertaining read 3.5 stars.

3 start because its an angsty book by Diana Palmer and honestly when you read her books you kinda know what you re gonna get An asshole hero that lusts after the evil ow However he is still kissing the heroine and telling her she will never muster up to his ideal woman She feels bad and sad and pines afted him the whole book because even though there are a lot of men mentioned in the book the hero is the only one for her.The book feels like it was written in the 1980s where no one had cellphones or options and being a careerwoman was something bad and to be ashamed of And the only important thing was to get married and be a housewive I m not saying its bad but it felt really dated.

Libby Collins father had only been dead a few weeks when her stepmother, Janet, called a real estate agent out to the ranch Suddenly, Libby and her brother faced the prospect of being homeless as Janet attempted to get her hands on every scrap of money that she could.Jordan Powell, their next door neighbor, was certainly wealthy enough to help them out, but Libby was too proud to ask for his aid Libby liked him a lot, but Jordan s tastes seemed to run toward experienced women like the beautiful Julie Merrill Julie was stunning and sophisticated She moved in the posh circles of the wealthy and famous, but her glittering appearance hid a horde of misdeeds How could Libby make Jordan see how wrong he was about the woman Jordan was proud, stubborn, and handsome as a Texas sunset Libby couldn t help but care about him, but she wouldn t beg for his assistance If he really liked her, Jordan should be able to see her predicament and offer to help her himself.Suddenly, things escalated out of control The drug and criminal elements surrounding Julie Merrill threatened to engulf Jordan as well and an attempted murderer nearly set fire to the Collins ranch house All seemed lost At the height of her despair, will Jordan finally see the light When will Jordan at last realize that what he feels for Libby goes way beyond mere neighborly affection
